Monetization Setup – How To Enter Ads Into Your Website

General Ads

This website supports multiple ad spaces, where you can place your ad code from your advertising partner, such as Google AdSense, Amazon etc. A list of advertising programs can be found here: https://autonomoussites.com/ad-programs/

Log into the WordPress admin panel and go to > Theme Options > Ad Manager.
Enter your ad code into the fields where you would like to have your ads displayed. If you use Google AdSense automatic ads, then only enter your code once into the first box called Automatic Ads. Please note that if you use manual ads, Google allows for 4 AdSense ads to be displayed on a page, so make sure you don’t enter your Google AdSense code into every field. It’s okay to have 3 Google ads plus 3 Amazon ads, and 3 ads from another ad network. You are allowed to mix and match advertising programs, just make sure to not use more than 4 Google ads per page.

Also keep in mind, don’t bombard your website with ads. The more ads a website has, the slower it becomes which hurts the user experience. Visitors will get annoyed if there are too many ads and will leave the website much quicker.
My personal recommendation is to use 3 Google Ads, 1 or 2 Amazon ads and maybe 1 or 2 ads from another ad partner. I try to keep the total amount of ads at no more than 5, sometimes even less.

Amazon Ads

This website has also built-in support for the Amazon affiliate program. Inside of the Theme Options, go to “Amazon Affiliate” and enter your Amazon affiliate tracking ID. By default there are 3 Amazon ads being displayed. At the bottom of each article, and 2 in the sidebar.

To change the products which are displayed in the Amazon ads, go to WordPress Admin Panel -> Appearance -> Widgets -> Primary Sidebar -> and look for the “DisruptPress Amazon Ads” widgets. There should be 2 of them. Expand them. There you can enter a new keyword.
